Dragon boat is for adults of all ages, genders, and fitness levels. It is a team sport with crews up to twenty paddlers. If you have never paddled a dragon boat, you are encouraged to jump right in.

Local dragon boat races are typically entered by gender categories consisting of all ages. Mixed, Women's, and Open. These races are inclusive and welcome performance and recreational crews as well as community teams put together for pure fun and team building.
National and International dragon boat races are run by dragon boat governing bodies and further break the gender categories down into age groups, and include specialty crews such as Para, Cancer Survivor and Breast Cancer Survivor. These races are inclusive, but crews must qualify. Further details can be found on the Dragon Boat Canada (DBC) and International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) websites.
