    Saturday morning on the water ! 

    Spring season May & June

    No experience necessary.  Have fun, learn the sport, the stroke and gain the skills and confidence to join a Dragon Boat crew.    All ages and genders welcome.


    Free learn to paddle dragon boat sessions on the recreational Welland Canal @ the Welland International Flatwater Center are provided by South Niagara Canoe Club with the support of Ontario Trillium Foundation.


    Dragon Boat is a paddling sport for recreational and competitive athletes.  The sport is governed nationally by Dragon Boat Canada (DBC) and internationally by International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF).

    Covid-19 

    Covid-19 Protocol changes with legislation and public health recommendations. We ask that you attest to having been vaccinated, and random checks for proof of vaccination will be done.

    This session is exclusive to Cancer Survivors and Breast Cancer Survivors and their supporters. 


    No experience necessary.  Have fun, learn the sport, the stroke and gain the skills and confidence to join a Dragon Boat crew.    All ages and genders welcome.

    Cancer Survivor and Breast Cancer Survivor are both divisions recognized Naitonally by Dragon Boat Canada and Internationally by International Dragon Boat Federation.

    Learn to Paddle sessions brought to you by Ontario Trillium Fund provide the opportunity for Niagara Region residents to try the sport of Dragon Boat in a safe and fun environment at no charge.

    Come see what's beyond the race finish line on a fun 1.15 hour paddle along the Welland canal. There are visual delights to enjoy all while your history host gives you some interesting background info on the Welland area's past and present. 

    Choice of two tours 9:00 am or 11:00 am
