Dragon boat is for adults of all ages, genders, and fitness levels. It is a team sport with crews up to twenty paddlers. If you have never paddled a dragon boat, you are encouraged to attend FREE Learn to Paddle sessions.

Member Program

A mixed crew with a focus on fitness, paddling stroke and technique and camaraderie. Flexible to meet your schedule. Racing is optional. Participants train seasonally 1-3 times per week.

A BCS crew with a focus on community outreach. Participants are members of Canal Dragons with additional BCS only events.

2021 Annual Membership is May 1 2021 through April 30 2022, fee is $95, Family Membership $170

    CANAL DRAGONS 

    Canal Dragons Mixed Dragon Boat Crew  

    Mixed, women's, & breast cancer survivor crews

    Adults of all genders and fitness levels welcome.  

    You are welcome to join us at any time during the year. 

    This program is focused on stroke development, fitness, and technique.

    We plan to attend 3 - 5 races covid allowing. Racing is optional.


    Participants will be assigned to boats/crews by the coaches taking into consideration crew and paddler needs and goals.  


    Spring, Summer and Autumn sessions 2022

    Schedule & Member Price:  


    Signing up mid-season prices are prorated $5 per session


    Summer & Autumn Jul 11 - Oct 31 $120

    Summer Jul 11 - Sep 17 $100

    Autumn Sep 19 - Oct 31 $60

    Payments may be made in installments

    No practices on holidays.

    Full on-water season May 2 - Oct 31  $185

    Spring May 2 - Jun 29 $85

    Non-member price:

    $325 for the season, or $10 per session prorated.  Membership recommended.

    Mondays & Wednesdays 6:30-8:00pm

    No experience necessary.  Have fun, learn the sport, the stroke and gain the skills and confidence to join a Dragon Boat crew.    Ages 18 - 65+

    No experience necessary.  Have fun, learn the sport, the stroke and gain the skills and confidence to join a Dragon Boat crew.    Ages 18 - 65+


    At the Welland International Flatwater Centre in the indoor tank.  These sessions will take place December through March.
