    This winter come join South Niagara Canoe Club for our off-season program where we will be working on strength and fitness.  This program is a great way to get into paddling shape before the summer racing months.  


    High Performance is for athletes who are interested in competition and reaching their full potential. This winter program has 8-10 workouts/week.


     

    Schedule & Member Price:  Payment may be made in installments

    No practices on holidays:  Family Day Feb 20th & Good Friday Apr 7th

    No practices during the Christmas break.

     

    High Performance is 8-10 sessions per week.   $525 plus HST  See below for schedule.

    Paracanoe is an adaptive paddling program that offers on and off water activities to both youth and adults with a physical disability (mobility impairment, amputation, cerebral Palsy, CMT disease, etc).  The goal of the program is to introduce the participant to the sport of sprint kayak at a recreational level, teaching them in a fun and safe environment. If interested, there is opportunity to compete at regional, provincial and national level, please ask your instructor for more information.

    Ages 20+

    Canal Dragons Mixed Dragon Boat Crew include our Breast Cancer Survivor Dragon Boat Crew, Hope Floats.  


    Winter session 2022/2023

    This is an excellent program to build on your strength, fitness and technique through the winter to prepare for the on-water season. 

    90 minute sessions split between the gym and paddle tank.

    May participate in 1,2 or 3 sessions per week.  

    1x per week = $100, 2x per week = $200, 3x per week =$280

    Saturday sessions are recommended for athletes that want to step it up a notch and are enthusiastic about racing.

    · Reviewing the financial status of the club and the auditor’s report for the year.

    · Electing the Board of Directors.

    CANAL DRAGONS 

    Canal Dragons Dragon Boat Crews

    Mixed, women's, cancer survivor & breast cancer survivor crews

    Adults of all genders and fitness levels welcome.  


    This program focuses on individual and team development, fitness, strength and technique.


    Most years Canal Dragons attends 3 -5 races. This year is special with the Canadian Dragon Boat Championships taking place on our watersWe plan to attend up to 9 races this year including the Canadian Dragon Boat Championships .

    Racing is optional, and racing fees are additional. You may attend as many or as few races as decided between you and your coach.


    Participants will be assigned to boats/crews by the coaches taking into consideration crew and paddler needs and goals.  


    Spring, Summer and Autumn sessions 2023

    Schedule & Member Price:  

    Full on water session May 1 - October 30 $200

    Payments may be made in installments

    No discounts for vacations or sick days, prices have been developed with both in mind.

    No practices on holidays.


    Do you wish to join for part of the on water season only

    Spring May 1 - Jun 28  $100

    Summer July 3 - September 14 $120

    Autumn drop in fee $5 per session


    You may join us mid-season. Simply register for the remainder of the on water season and prices will be prorated to the end of the season, your invoice will be updated and reissued.


    Non-member price:

    Dragon Boat Canada steering certification course.

    Trainer: Scott Murray


    This free 4 hour steering course is for South Niagara Canoe Club members only and has been paid for by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.  A $20 deposit is required and will be returned to you upon completion of the course. 


    Volunteer paddlers are required and are asked to register. 


    Once registered steering participants will be required to register with Alkame. An email with the link will be sent.


    Upon completion of this course, participants will need to fulfill these additional requirements in order to be deemed Officially Certified by Dragon Boat Canada:

    1. Be deemed "Ready to Race", complete your first race at a regatta, and notify your instructor (Scott Murray)
    2. Successfully complete your Pleasure Craft Operators License (Boater Exam)
    3. Successfully complete your basic/standard First Aid (any First Aid provider)
    4. Successfully complete the online course, Safe Sport (Safe Sport)


    Spaces are limited. If there is space available after all South Niagara Canoe Club members have had first refusal this course will be offered to members outside of SNCC at the same price offered through Alkame. $150 plus hst.

    This five day long program is designed to introduce the sport of sprint canoe and kayak to young boys and girls through a fun-filled environment and a variety of both on land and on water activities. Youth will learn boat safety, paddling fundamentals and skills. This program is intended for beginner and novice paddlers, however participants must be confident in the water.

    A life jacket (PFD) must be worn at all times while in or around the water. Participants are encouraged to bring their own PFD each day. Camp runs each day from 9 am - 4 pm.

    Youth Racing Camp is an eight week day camp introduction to the sport of sprint canoe and sprint kayak and replaces the two week Novice Racing Camp introduced in 2021. YRC focusses on developing fitness and introducing the fundamentals of balance, technique, and crew boat skills for racing. 


    July 3 - August 25 2023 excluding holidays $900

    9:00am - 4:00pm Early Drop off and Late Pick Up available for $10 per day.

    YRC is intended for young participants ages 10 - 15 who are excited about excelling at a new sport or wish to continue to develop their skills in Sprint Canoe and Kayak.. Participants should be enthusiastic to try out the competitive side of the sport and be willing to challenge themselves as they progress. 

    All coaching, equipment and race fees are included in registration fee. All activities, including the race, will be taking place at the Welland International Flatwater Centre.


    A lifejacket (PFD) must be worn at all times in and around the water. Participants are encouraged to bring their own PFD every day.

    Canoe Kids Camp Week 5 July 31 - August 4 2023

    This five day long program is designed to introduce the sport of sprint canoe and kayak to young boys and girls through a fun-filled environment and a variety of both on land and on water activities. Youth will learn boat safety, paddling fundamentals and skills. This program is intended for beginner and novice paddlers, however participants must be confident in the water.

    A life jacket (PFD) must be worn at all times while in or around the water. Participants are encouraged to bring their own PFD each day. Camp runs each day from 9 am - 4 pm.

    Please note that registrations will only be processed once SNCC has received a completed registration and full payment.
