A two week (9 day) introduction to the sport of sprint canoe and sprint kayak with a focus on developing fitness and introducing the fundamentals of balance, technique, and crew boat skills for racing. The camp culminates in a racing opportunity at the end of week two.

Novice Racing Camp is supportive to beginners and those without previous canoe/kayak experience, however participants should be willing to challenge themselves as they progress. They should be enthusiastic to try out the competitive side of the sport.

Novice Racing Camp will function both independently and combine with the Canoe Kids Camp to create a full day schedule. Canoe Kids Camp is focused primarily on fun and recreation, and will provide a complimentary balance to the competition focus of the Novice Racing component.

All coaching, equipment and race fees are included in registration fee. All activities, including the race, will be taking place at the Welland International Flatwater Centre.
A PFD must be worn at all times. Participants are encouraged to bring their own PFD every day.
